Kim Jeongho
A geographer who compiled Daedongyeojido and other geographical works.
Key events
He produced Cheonggudo, Dongyeodo, and Daedongyeojido. His 1861 national map was published in 22 woodblock-printed sections; relatively little documentation survives about his family and life.
Legacy
He organized accumulated geographical information into maps and texts. Daedongyeojido's achievement should not be confused with unverified tales of solitary nationwide surveying.
