An independence activist who killed Ito Hirobumi and wrote on Asian peace.
Key events
He supported schools and armed resistance in the Russian Far East. After killing Ito Hirobumi at Harbin in 1909, he was imprisoned at Lüshun, began On Peace in East Asia, and was executed in 1910.
Legacy
His Harbin action and unfinished prison writing on East Asian peace belong together. Resistance and a proposed regional order both inform his political concerns.
